Water & Green Eco Tour

Our Water & Green History Tour offers a unique insight into the untold history of water and its relationship to New Orleans.

Our journey will take you through past and present, exploring the natural and man-made disasters that created a need for new and improved ways to deal with our city below sea level.

Water has shaped the music, food, and cultural traditions of this city.

On tour we'll cover indigenous history, steamboats, slavery, African American history, jazz, 20th-century innovations, and climate change, showing you how water has been integral in shaping the city as we know it today.

This tour is done by tour guides who work in public health or environmental studies in collaboration with the Water Collaborative of New Orleans.
